What we accept

Five program categories. All run on the volunteer‑first model.

i.

Environment

Miyawaki afforestation, last‑mile solar lighting, water stewardship, e‑waste management, urban biodiversity.

ii.

Education

School infrastructure (revamps, ambulance donations, study lamps), scholarship programs, digital learning kits.

iii.

Health & hygiene

Sanitation drives, menstrual hygiene programs, medical camps, hospital infrastructure support.

iv.

Livelihood

Skill development, women empowerment cohorts, micro‑enterprise support, last‑mile market linkages.

v.

Community

Rural infrastructure, disaster relief, tribal welfare, panchayat‑level community development.

How a partnership runs

Eight steps from first call to year‑end audit.

  1. Discovery call

30 minutes, free. Your CSR thesis, our capability map. We tell you up‑front what we can and cannot deliver.

  2. Program scoping

Site selection, beneficiary mapping, volunteer cohort sizing, government coordination requirements, timeline.

  3. Proposal & budget

Full proposal with line‑item budget within 7 working days. Includes deliverables, milestones, reporting cadence.

  4. MOU signing

Standard CSR MOU on Marpu letterhead. Reviewed by your legal team. Tranche payment schedule defined.

  5. Implementation kickoff

Field staff deployed, volunteer cohort assembled, government permissions secured, baseline data captured.

  6. Monthly progress reporting

Photo documentation, beneficiary numbers, geo‑tagged outputs, financial spend against budget. PDF + PPT deck.

  7. Quarterly site visits

Your CSR team or audit team on the ground. Travel logistics handled by Marpu. We’ve hosted CSR teams from BMS, DSM, Nagase, and others.

  8. Annual Fund Utilisation Certificate & audit

Statutory FUC produced. CA‑certified. Plus an annual impact report for your CSR disclosure.

Ticket sizes

₹5L to ₹2Cr per program. Most engagements sit at ₹15L–₹50L.

Single‑state, single‑program partnerships typically run ₹15L to ₹50L. Multi‑state programs or multi‑year commitments scale to ₹50L to ₹2Cr. Pilots and feasibility programs start at ₹5L. We do not accept program ticket sizes below ₹5L — the field operations and reporting cost structure does not support meaningful work below that threshold.

Pricing is transparent: ~70–75% to direct program costs, 15–20% to field staff and volunteer mobilisation, 8–10% to administration and reporting overhead. Disclosed in every proposal.

Compliance & documentation

Everything your CSR audit team will ask for.

What CSR partners say

From the people who write the cheques.

“Marpu’s reporting is the cleanest we receive from any implementation partner. Photo documentation, geo‑tagging, financial reconciliation — we don’t have to chase. The volunteer‑first model also extends our reach beyond the program timeline, which matters for impact narrative.”

Reema Bagchi — Bristol‑Myers Squibb, India CSR programme

“We selected Marpu for our Miyawaki afforestation programme after evaluating four implementation partners. The combination of academic rigour around the volunteer‑first framework and on‑ground execution capability across multiple states made the difference.”

CSR programme lead — DSM‑Firmenich, India

“Their volunteer mobilisation in our district has been remarkable. The plantation drive co‑hosted with our administration was the largest single‑day participation we’ve recorded.”

A District Collector, Telangana — paraphrased per protocol

“Marpu is one of the few NGOs in this region that I would describe as institution‑ready. The frameworks they publish actually reflect how they operate.”

A Member of Parliament, Telangana — paraphrased per protocol

Why Volunteer‑First

The model is published. The operations are audited. Both matter.

Most CSR implementation partners optimise for vendor‑style delivery: deploy team, complete deliverable, invoice, exit. The Volunteer‑First model optimises for community embedding: mobilise volunteers from inside the beneficiary community, use your CSR rupees as the catalyst rather than the entire fuel, and leave behind a network that continues operating after the program timeline ends.

Your ROI compounds. Your reach extends. Your impact narrative survives the audit cycle. The published academic framework behind this is on SSRN: Volunteer‑First Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development Goal Localization — Evidence from India’s Largest Volunteer‑Led Social Impact Network.
